What Universal Converter does

Universal Converter adapts to the files you load and switches between image, audio, and video conversion workflows. It is designed for direct browser-side conversion with local previews, file-specific output controls, and batch-friendly flows where they make sense.

Supported formats

  • Images: PNG, JPEG, WebP, AVIF, GIF, BMP, HEIC, TIFF, SVG
  • Audio: MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, OGG, FLAC
  • Video: MP4, WebM, MOV, AVI, MKV and related common containers

Why it is different

  • One tool handles raster images, vector SVG input, audio, and video.
  • Uses media conversion logic shared with trimy instead of a separate lightweight mock pipeline.
  • Supports adaptive batch flows rather than forcing one fixed UI for all media types.

Privacy and local processing

Conversion runs locally in the browser. The workspace is built around local processing rather than file upload to a backend converter.

FAQ

Can I batch convert files?

Yes. Images support the broadest batch workflow, and audio or video batches are supported with media-type-specific restrictions.

Can I resize on export?

Yes. Image export supports max-dimension and relative scale resizing. Video export also supports resize controls when re-encoding is needed.

Does it preserve source settings by default?

For video, the default flow aims for minimal required changes and keeps source-driven frame rate and bitrate unless you override them.
